Vehicle Fitment & YMM Search: privacy policy

This policy explains what the Shopify app Vehicle Fitment & YMM Search ("the app") does with data. The app is made by Kavio Labs Software Limited ("Kavio Labs", "we"), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (company number 17532441). Questions: privacy@kaviolabs.com.
Summary
- The app does not collect or read any data about your customers: no names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, orders or IP addresses.
- My Garage (the vehicles a shopper saves) stays in the shopper's own browser. It is never sent to us.
- Your fitment data (which product fits which vehicle) is product catalogue data. We keep a copy on our server to import, check, edit and export it, and we delete it after you uninstall.

Access scope requested: write_products (product lookups, fitment tags and metafields). The app requests no customer
or order scopes.
Your customers
The search block and the fit badge run in the shopper's browser from Shopify's CDN. They read the vehicle list and
the product's fitment from your store's page and send nothing to our server. The vehicles a shopper picks are saved
in the browser's local storage under the key kvf:garage so the badge can check the next product; the shopper can
remove them with the × on each vehicle, or by clearing site data. The app sets no cookies and uses no tracking.
Because we hold no customer data, a Shopify customers/data_request returns nothing from us and a customers/redact
request has nothing to delete. We log that each request was received.
Export links are signed, work for 10 minutes and are not indexed by search engines.
Retention and deletion
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends
app/uninstalled: we delete the access token immediately. - 48 hours later Shopify sends
shop/redact: we delete every record about your store, including fitment rows, imports and the product cache. If it never arrives, an automatic job deletes the data 30 days after the uninstall. - Finished import records (file name, counts, error lines) are kept for 90 days while the app is installed.
- The
kvf-tags on your products stay in your store until you remove them (Settings → Delete all fitment, before uninstalling). Shopify removes the app's own fitment metafields after the uninstall.
Processors and hosting
The app's server runs at apps.kaviolabs.com with our web hosting provider. Billing is done by Shopify; we never see card details. We do not sell or share data with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about your store, or for its deletion, at privacy@kaviolabs.com. We answer within one month. You can also contact your local data protection authority (in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk).

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top.
